 Richard Robinson is a retired farmer and makes no claim to being a journalist. He has been interested in old farm machinery for over fifty years, to a certain extent because he couldn’t afford to buy new machinery. A keen photographer since the age of twelve, he spends a lot of time travelling after rare and interesting machines.
He and his wife Valerie opened their property as a farm park for eleven years and included an agricultural museum and a mail order book business specialising in tractor and farm machinery titles and manuals. On retiring from farming and tourism they continued the mail order books for another thirteen years and then specialised in their own titles. In 2002 Crawler Tractor Scrapbook Part 4 was awarded the prestigious Norman Knights award for the best overseas book at the annual Tractor and Machinery Magazine award ceremony in the United Kingdom.
